Janet Mulu

Janet is an international trade and development specialist with 17+ years of professional experience, having worked across the private sector, pan-African banks, and international consulting firms. She is committed to spearheading trade and economic advancement and catalyzing sustainable growth initiatives.

Janet’s experience cuts across trade finance, trade facilitation, trade policy and sustainable development. Her notable contributions to the international trade policy space include her work on the implementation of the African Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) through the UNDP Financial Sector Hub among others. She also spent over a decade-long career working for leading pan African banks facilitating trade for the private sector.

In addition to her role at Oxford HR, Janet works with companies and organizations to adopt ethical practices, improve their ESG and facilitate sustainable trade.

Beyond her professional endeavours, Janet is passionate about gender equity and women’s economic empowerment. She has served on multiple women’s boards and has been instrumental in leading gender transformation programs.

Janet holds an MSc International Trade & Finance from London Metropolitan University, an MBA-Finance from Newport University and is an accredited International Trade Specialist (ITS).
