- Executive Search
The successful candidate, Susanne Pedersen, had worked as a board member, executive director and strategic advisor for 25 years with experience in catalysing partnerships, technology transfer, innovation and advisory services within the environmental and climate change area.
The role was an exciting prospect for Susanne, and she feels:
‘well prepared for the role having provided strategic advisory services to boards, philanthropies, international organizations as well as governments, regions, and municipalities. It is perhaps even more exciting to do so in a GGGI context as we have more than 65 nationalities on board and staff embedded in 33 country offices across 5 continents.’
”The process yielded fruitful discussions and I have had further great follow-up discussions with Oxford HR both during the interview processes and even after taking up my post.

She is hopeful that GGGI can advance some key impact areas as well as being instrumental in leveraging significant climate investments for initiatives in Member countries.
‘I would like GGGI to take on a more prominent advocacy role to promote green growth in emerging and developing economies while engaging stakeholders from both the North and the South ranging from research institutions, private companies, financial institutions and governments.’
”It is my aim to introduce learning loops so that the Global Green Growth Institute may replicate, communicate and share successful projects with not only our Member countries but also within the international community.
