David Venn stood out for his understanding of and experience within the youth sector, media landscape and communication, as well as people management, and the clarity with which he expresses his ideas, said Noha Shawky, the hiring manager. Since the recent start, David has quickly and easily integrated with the team and in the organisation, developed a strategy plan and delivered on the ongoing planned activities.
When we asked David why he joined WSB,
“…because of the chance to work with a global movement that is having an impact in the lives of so many young people. The Scout Movement has such a rich history and is driven by volunteers and staff who care deeply about developing the leadership skills and education of youth around the world. My hope with this role is to think even more creatively about how we share our story in the digital age and engage our partners in world events, campaigns and other large-scale opportunities for collaboration. […] The position is full of new people, new ideas and new energy. I feel very fortunate that I get to spend my days working in the social impact sector, travelling to different regions to experience what Scouting looks like in different contexts”.
”With more than 110 years of history and tradition behind us, the Scout Movement is also looking to the future. Right now, we are focused on an ambitious goal to become the world's leading educational youth movement and equipping 100 million young people with the skills to become active citizens in their communities. Over the next year we will be aligning much of our work around the Sustainable Development Goals as a way to connect the local efforts of Scouts to a global agenda for peace, equality and sustainability.

And as for the support from Oxford HR,
Noha found us very professional, friendly and on time, with the right experience within the non-for-profit sector to understand the nature and needs of the organisation and the required competencies for the candidate.
Noha particularly liked the feedback and the objective way of presenting the candidates, and our excellent graphic designers!
”The team at Oxford HR was very helpful in supporting me and WSB through the process of recruitment. From initial contact to the interview process to the contract phase, I knew I was dealing with professionals who cared deeply about finding the right candidate for the role. They helped make my transition to a new career opportunity as smooth as possible with a great deal of patience and support along the way.
