The Client
Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust is an international charity, headquartered at Jersey Zoo in the Channel Islands, working to save species from extinction. Established by author and conservationist Gerald Durrell in 1959, Durrell’s aim is for more diverse, beautiful and resilient natural landscapes in which species can thrive, and people can enjoy a deeper connection with nature.
Durrell pursues its mission by investing in four operational pillars that together strive for our vision of a wilder, healthier, more colourful world. The trust has an important place in zoo-based conservation as a pioneer of the concept which has influenced zoo operations and conservation work worldwide over decades. It remains at the forefront of best practice.
Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust owns and manages Jersey Zoo, runs a successful training and education function, a portfolio of successful conservation programmes in countries such as Madagascar, aiming to protect species and has recently taken over management of Dalnacradoch estate in Scotland for the purposes of wilding it and restoring biodiversity.
