1. What is your work experience prior to joining Oxford HR?
For about 20 years, I worked for Barclays Bank administering HR policies and procedures. In the past five years, I was HR Business Partner to Ultramed Health Insurance company where I supported the business from its inception, establishing a robust organizational structure and setting up the HR policies and procedures.
2. Who would be your dream client and why?
My dream client would be Amazon. Amazon is a global company which ranks highly with regards to talent recruitment, has competitive remuneration and personnel retention packages.
3. What do you feel you can bring to our clients?
I feel I bring local -global orientation and an understanding of different cultures. I strongly believe in the ability to move beyond simple tolerance, to embracing and celebrating the rich dimensions of diversity contained within each individual and, to embrace all people irrespective of race, gender, disability, medical or other need.
4. In your opinion what makes a great application?
I think a great application comes down to a well-written cover letter that clearly demonstrates past performance in relevant assignments and clear articulation of the candidates’ motivation and commitment to the organization’s objectives.
5. What is your favourite book of all time and why?
A Promised Land by Barack Obama tells the story of his improbable odyssey from a young man searching for his identity, to a leader of the free world, describing in strikingly personal detail, both his political education and the landmark moments of the first term of his historic presidency.
Edna is based in South Africa and has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources and Administration obtained from her past engagements with Barclays Bank International, MTN and JAM International, among others. She holds a Bcom Human Resources degree, a Diploma in Industrial Relations and a certificate in Labour Law from the University of Cape Town. She is a dedicated professional who takes human resources as a central pillar to an organisation; also an excellent team player who listens and thrives on collaborating with talented team members. Edna is a self-motivated individual who has led consultative recruitment for strategic and key roles in business enterprises within SADC states. She has successfully consulted and resolved labour disputes. Edna has a passion for organisational change and development. She has been directly involved in Human Capital Management of diverse markets and cultures.
She has sourced candidates for positions in the Africa portfolio of NGOs, Medical Healthcare & Insurance, Energy & Petroleum industries, Transport and Distribution.
