The Client

The Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) is a global partnership of national governments, UN agencies, multilateral development banks, the private sector, and research institutions, working together to promote the resilience of infrastructure systems to climate and disaster risks. Headquartered in New Delhi and initiated by the Government of India, CDRI plays a central role in shaping infrastructure policy, capacity building, and innovation across borders.

Key Objectives

Oxford HR was proud to collaborate with CDRI, marking a pivotal step in our mission to identify and support transformative leaders for a more sustainable and resilient world. This partnership underscored our shared commitment to advancing disaster and climate resilience in infrastructure systems.

Working closely with the key stakeholders at CDRI, we have made placements for the following roles:

  • COO / Deputy Director General
  • Lead Specialist – Procurement
  • Lead Specialist – Programmes
  • Senior Specialist – URBAN
  • Senior Specialist – Infrastructure for Resilient Island States (IRIS)
  • Lead – Transport Sector Resilience Expert
  • Lead – International Processes and Engagement
  • Lead – Water Sector Resilience Expert
  • Lead – Energy Sector Resilience Expert

Due to the variety of roles and experiences required, we implemented a several distinct, targeted search strategies, identifying specific organisations, conferences and networks in which we expected to find appropriately experienced target applicants. Across the roles, these included multilateral institutions addressing post disaster and conflict infrastructure, engineering firms and networks, and specialist agencies and consultants. For many roles, extensive networks, thought-leadership and stakeholder engagement were important, for those our strategies included speakers at relevant conferences, high-level panel meetings and global networks.

For me personally, the CDRI assignment has been one of the most compelling searches we’ve led in Asia. CDRI’s mandate sits at the intersection of climate ambition, technical excellence, and global cooperation, and that resonated deeply with candidates around the world. The final shortlist reflected exactly what we aim for at Oxford HR: global diversity, technical depth, and values-based leadership. We’re proud to have contributed to strengthening CDRI’s leadership capacity at a critical moment in its growth.
